Under the present system the open market exchange rates quoted by different banks may differ. NRB sets a US dollar exchange rate for selling Rs. 119 and 03 paisa for Thursday which all time highest. And buying rate Rs. 118 and 43 paisa.
After the start of 2018, Dollar has become stronger. In this case, the exchange rate of one US dollar has been close to Rs. 119. In the last days, the exchange rate of dollars has been making a new record every day.
NRB, the central bank of Nepal, established in 1956 under the Nepal Rastra Bank Act 1955 is the monetary, regulatory and supervisory authority of banks and financial institutions. The new Nepal Rastra Bank Act 2002 which replaces the erstwhile Act has ensured operational autonomy and independence to the Bank.
