Kathmandu. Chinese company Huawei has been awarded the contract for the physical infrastructure of Nepal Telecom’s data centers to be built in Kathmandu and Bhairahawa.Telecom spokesperson Hari Dhakal said that the telecom has selected Chinese company Huawei for the physical infrastructure of the data center of the same size in both places.

He told Online News, “Nepal Telecom has made public the name of the company that will build the physical infrastructure of the data center to be built in Kathmandu and Bhairahawa. Now we will call the company to sign the agreement within a week.”According to him, Huawei has been awarded the contract to build the physical infrastructure of the data center worth Rs 484.638 million.

Spokesperson Dhakal said that Huawei should complete the physical infrastructure required for building the data center, including power, security, connectivity, within 9 months of the agreement. “The company we have awarded the contract to must have completed the work within 9 months of the agreement.” He said.

He said that the telecom will send a letter to Huawei within the next week to negotiate an agreement on the construction of the physical infrastructure of the data center.
