Facebook’s parent company Meta is set to launch its own AI app. The company is set to launch a new AI app to compete with tools like OpenAI’s ChatGPT, Google’s Gemini, and Microsoft’s Copilot.According to a CNBC report, Meta will bring this new AI tool to app stores in the second quarter of 2025, along with other apps like Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp. Along with this, Meta is also expected to release the Reels app soon.
The news also mentions that preparations are underway to make the video editing feature currently available on Instagram available through a separate app. There is talk that this app will be similar to ByteDance’s Capcut.CEO Mark Zuckerberg aims to make Meta a leader in the field of AI by the end of this year.
Meta’s AI product is already included as a search feature in apps like Facebook and Instagram. It has the ability to generate generative AI (words, photos, etc.) like other AI products. The company believes that this separate app will help users interact more deeply.
Meta AI will be free for now, but Meta is preparing to introduce a premium membership feature by accelerating more advanced features. This feature is currently in testing.
